Solicitors

Our accountants specialise in helping solicitors and law firms.

We’ve been working alongside solicitor firms for over 30 years. We understand the pressures and complexities of running a modern legal practice, including dealing with SRA compliance, planning for succession, and dealing with the growing demands placed on COFAs and finance teams.

As specialist advisers to the legal sector, we know you need more than just year-end accounts. You need a trusted partner who understands your regulatory responsibilities, your structure, and your strategic goals; and can help you build a sustainable, future-ready firm.

This is where we can help.

Our specialist legal sector team works with solicitors and law firms across the Midlands. Several members of our team have been supporting law firms for decades and have a deep understanding of the commercial, regulatory, and structural challenges the legal profession faces today.

This means we know exactly what it takes to run and grow a successful law firm, and how to navigate the complex regulatory, financial and structural pressures that come with it.

And, it’s not just accountancy support we provide. Our specialist team can also advise on partnership structuring, compliance, tax planning and succession, giving you the practical, strategic support you need to keep your firm running smoothly.

It’s expertise you can rely on, whenever you need it.

We’ve worked with Rowleys for over fourteen years and have consistently received expert, practical advice tailored to the needs of a legal practice. They’ve guided us through significant milestones, including mergers, partner retirements, new appointments, and restructuring, always with a clear understanding of the commercial and regulatory context in which we operate. Their support with ongoing income and corporate tax matters and SRA compliance is invaluable. The team is consistently approachable, responsive, and professional — we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to other law firms.

Making the complex clear

Recently, we worked with a Midlands-based solicitor firm to help them restructure their partnership model. The goal was to improve succession planning, increase accessibility for new partners, and enhance tax planning opportunities, while maintaining their limited liability status.

We also carried out a specialist SRA audit to identify areas for improvement in client account management, reduce risk, and strengthen internal systems. The result was a more flexible, secure, and future-ready practice.
