Whether you are self employed, either on your own (sole trader) or with others (partnership) or a director of a limited company then you are required to complete a Self- Assessment tax return every tax year.
The tax return has to be submitted to HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) by 31 January every year if you submit your return over the Internet or 31 October if you send in a manual return. At Rowleys we have a dedicated team of people who can complete your tax return on your behalf and submit this to HMRC over the Internet.
In addition to completing your tax return our team can assist in the following:
Our tax advice is designed to meet an individual's agreed objectives considering all relevant taxes. For any individual wishing to provide maximum protection for their wealth, taxation must be regarded as a vital strategic issue. Against a backdrop of increasing rules and regulations, it is important for individuals to know that careful consideration and planning is being given to their tax position on an ongoing basis.
The world is full of tax saving ideas, but if you are serious about saving tax you need tailored advice. There's no such thing as a universal tax saving plan - the best approach will always depend critically on your specific goals.
Rowley's approaches tax in the same way as all our services; methodically, and based on planning for your actual needs. Of course if we don't understand your needs, we can't help you reach your goals. That's why Rowley's tax advice integrates smoothly with all our other services. Our tax planning is based on a sound understanding of your business and personal objectives.
HMRC have the power to enquire into your tax return in the 12 month period from the date of submission. In the event of HMRC opening an enquiry, our tax team will handle the processes on your behalf. With tax investigations it is important that you take appropriate, timely action and with our expertise and solid relationship with HMRC, we can conclude your tax investigations efficiently, promptly and as painlessly as possible.
Rowleys offer a fee protection insurance scheme to ensure that you do not incur any costs in dealing with an HMRC enquiry.
Finally, as your business starts to grow, our Tax Force division will be able to advise you on all aspects of tax planning – click here for more details.

Our normal approach to fees is that we agree a fixed fee in advance of work done for specific services. Any services outside the scope of the agreement will be charged separately.
The benefit of fixed fees is that each party knows exactly what is payable and by when.
Furthermore, we want you to talk to us over particular issues, but be reassured that it doesn't cost anything to talk. We only charge when we have agreed the basis of work to be done.
