This sector is highly regulated and overseen by the Solicitors Regulatory Authority (SRA) who was established as the independent regulatory body of the Law Society in January 2007.
In particular, Solicitors are subject to the Solicitors' Accounts Rules 1998 (SAR). The SAR impose specific reporting requirements on the accountant and include a number of individual mandatory work requirements. The rules set out:
- qualification requirements;
- timing of the required report;
- format of report; and
- minimum work requirements.

Our normal approach to fees is that we agree a fixed fee in advance of work done for specific services. Any services outside the scope of the agreement will be charged separately.
The benefit of fixed fees is that each party knows exactly what is payable and by when.
Furthermore, we want you to talk to us over particular issues, but be reassured that it doesn't cost anything to talk. We only charge when we have agreed the basis of work to be done.
