65 years of service

Two Directors at Rowley’s notch up a total of 65 years between them!!  To mark this momentous occasion staff and some of the longest standing clients met at the Leicestershire Golf Club for a celebration lunch.

Tony Jarvis left school in 1971 and started at Rowley’s to study for his Articles, and is now, after 40 years, Chairman of The Rowleys Partnership Ltd.

Craig Shevas on leaving school joined Rowley’s to train as an Accountant in 1985.  He remembers his first work suit, a “Miami Vice” style pale blue number worn with white socks and grey loafers, topped of with a trendy “Bono” mullet haircut.

Rowley’s was originally based in Friar Lane.  This was an area of Leicester steeped in tradition and was part of the City where Solicitors and Accountants chose to set up their practices.  In 2005 the decision was taken to move out of town towards Junction 21 of the M1, where at Meridian Business Park, parking is far easier both for staff and clients.

Tony said he had been thinking for sometime of the best way to mark this occasion and include as many people as possible who were still part of Rowley’s.

Tony entertained everyone with his stories from the past, and noted how different things are now with the help of computers, dual screens, emails and mobile phones.

Part of the expansion has seen Rowley’s join the Global Networking alliance MGI,  which has allowed the firm to meet an increasing demand from clients for knowledge about global financial and tax issues.
