HMRC has announced that they will launch a new method of paying tax liabilities, known as Managed Payment Plans, in April 2011.

From 1 April 2010 all cheque payments by post will be treated as being received by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) on the date when cleared funds reach HMRC's bank account.

New interest charges are to be introduced from 6 April 2010 for in-year payments of PAYE and NIC not paid on time and in full.
